Regular Membership Meetings

Our regular monthly meetings usually take place at the Garden & Arts Bldg., 906 Senter St., Irving, TX. See the map below for directions. The meetings are generally held the first Saturday of each month at 2:00 p.m. There are occasional exceptions. Be sure to check below for information concerning any particular monthly meeting.

Each meeting includes an informal technical (usually) program after the meeting's business is concluded.  Cookies and refreshments are provided at each monthly meeting by a member of NTCA.  See Cookie Monster List for schedule.

Visitors and guests are always welcome.  Come and join the fun!

Garden & Arts Building
906 Senter St, Irving, TX

The Garden & Arts Building is located south of Airport Frwy (Hwy 183).
Take the O'Conner exit and go south until you come to
6th Street,  turn left,  then right onto Senter Street.

February 6, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Regular Monthly Meeting. Meet at the Senter St. facility (see map above)

Meeting Program - Specialty welding by Bob Deavers of Accurate Welding in Fort Worth. Bob will tell us about techniques used in welding different grades of aluminum, as well as welding other exotic metals like titanium. He will have some samples of welding repairs done on a Corvair head, on an aluminum aftermarket piston, and possibly other items. His shop has also done repairs on aluminum wheels. This should be an interesting program so be there if you can.

March 6, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Meeting Program - Ric Markin explained restoration preparations and costs involved with Corvairs.

April 3, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Meeting Program - Wilson's Auto Repair in Garland, TX will be presenting what his business can provide to Corvair owners.

May 1, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Regular Monthly Meeting. Meet at the Senter St. facility (see map above)

Meeting Program - Bob Gill, with a 30+ year background in commercial and residential air conditioning and heating will offer a brief history of Automotive Gasoline heaters and explain the operation and maintenance required of Corvair Gasoline Heaters and will be bringing along complete heaters and parts for you to examine. Are they as dangerous as the rumors proclaim? Find out at the May meeting.

June 5, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Meeting Program - Cleve Wiley of Eagle Transmissions gave a short general presentation on the Corvair's Powerglide transmission.

August 7, 2010, Saturday - 2 p.m.

Regular Monthly Meeting. Meet at the alternate site.

Meeting Program -  With an eye toward members heading for the Great Plains Corvair Roundup In Tulsa later in the month, Clay Wispell will present a program on what -- and what not -- to take with you in your Corvair.

Meeting Program - NTCA Annual Auction

Lunch and a brief meeting and Election of the 2011 Officers.

Everyone, please bring a dish of something yummy to share as we will be grazing throughout the auction.

Meat, sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit, vegetables, desserts, chips, non-alcoholic beverages, so basically finger foods.
